Foreign Scholarship

In the state of Maharashtra, meritorious students from open category are deprived of higher education opportunities at prestigious foreign universities due to their financial hardship. For all such students the Higher and Technical Education Department under Government of Maharashtra started Scholarship for Higher Education in Foreign Countries for the Meritorious Students in the academic year 2018-19. Every year scholarship is awarded to total 40 Seats out of which total 30 seats for Master's degree Post-Graduate courses and total of 10 Seats for Doctoral courses under the stream Arts, Commerce, Science, Management, Law, Engineering/Architecture, Pharmacy. Selected students through this scholarship will be provided with full tuition fees, personal health insurance, subsistence allowance, round trip – including economy class air travel expenses (one time only) and other/contingency expenses. So that the dream of meritorious boys and girls from the open category to pursue higher education abroad will not be incomplete due to lack of money. Course Duration: - 1. Ph.D.- 4 years or actual course duration whichever is less. 2. Post Graduate Degree- 2 years or duration of actual course whichever is less. 3. Post Graduate Diploma- 1 years or duration of actual course whichever is less. Eligibility: The student and the student's mother/father or guardian should be a citizen of India and a resident of the state of Maharashtra. • Educational Qualification A student admitted to a Master's Degree or Post Graduate course abroad should have passed the degree examination with at least 55% marks from recognized universities in India. Also, a student admitted for Ph.D. course should have passed Master's degree examination with minimum 55% marks from recognized universities in India. • The student should have been admitted abroad to an educational institution / university ranked within 200 in the latest QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) World Ranking on merit. • Unconditional Offer Letter from the educational institution abroad as mentioned above. • Annual family income Less than Rs. 8 lakhs. • Candidates age should not exceed 35 years for Master’s degree course and 40 years for Ph.D. course as on 1st July 2024.
